Dear Parents/Carers
On behalf of West Wales Islamic Cultural Association supplementary school I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning families. The supplementary school by the grace and mercy of Allah was founded in the summer of 1999 by the voluntary effort of a few families who saw a need for their children to be raised and educated in the spirit of Islam. Initially in Carmarthen, but later on extended the services to Haverfordwest and Llanelli.

Classes are usually held over the weekend for only three to four hours, at the most. Since these children do not attend any other Islamic school, these three hours or so are crucial to their Islamic education. I would request you to be punctual and spend time helping your child (ren) at home with homework etc. As we are inshallah planning to rebuild a robust website, teaching curriculum and homework will soon be accessible on line. Please make the most use of it.

It has been a truly multi-ethnic school with children from different ethnic backgrounds united by quest for knowledge in our Deen in accordance with the Teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). We provide a safe and stimulating learning environment through a team of dedicated and experienced staff, thus enhancing the overall intellectual, moral and spiritual development of our children. Our teachers and volunteers are CRB checked.

Our supplementary school was created for you and is enriched by your presence and becomes more effective through your full support.

To create a harmonious environment and promote the enhancement of human values, spiritual attainment and faith in the Almighty, through providing the community around Wales with focal point for a range of spiritual, social, cultural, educational and training activities, and this will enable the community to develop greater self-confidence through a sense of belonging in order to affirm its cultural identities and renew its zest of self-reliance.

To create unity through religion and to improve and enhance skills, knowledge and capacity of the community to espouse values of diversity, tolerance and moderation and promote interfaith dialogue with other religious group, by reaching out and acting as a resource centre for the local communities, voluntary and statutory agencies and the wider community as a whole.
