Outline of the Islamic Curriculum

Our main objective is to offer a broad and balance Islamic curriculum. One of our aims is to teach your child to become a competent reader of the Holy Qur’an as well as building a solid foundation in understanding their faith. Below is an outline of the subject areas we will be teaching.  Please see the yearly and termly planner for further information:

Junior Group curriculum includes:

  • Arabic alphabet
  • Tajweed (Correct Pronunciation)
  • Aqeedah (Islamic Beliefs)
  • Akhlaaq (Islamic Manners)
  • Dua (Daily Supplications)
  • Fun based Islamic Activities
  • Introduction to the Seerah (Life of the Prophet pbuh)

Senior Group curriculum includes:

  • Qur’an recitation with Tajweed
  • Arabic Language
  • Hifz (Memorization of the Qur’an)
  • Aqeedah (Islamic Beliefs)
  • Teachings  of the Qur’an
  • Teachings of the Hadith
  • Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence)
  • Islamic History & Civilisation
  • Islamic Art & Architecture
  • Seerah (Life of the Prophet peace be upon him)
  • Islamic Manners
  • Islamic Social conduct

Learning Schedule for Junior Class 5-7 years

Lessons 1- 5 consist of age-appropriate (formal & informal) teaching and learning. Children will be working in small groups and large groups throughout the day. All children will have regular breaks for exercise and refreshments and water is provided throughout.

START EVERY SUNDAY 1PM to 5 PM

1pm Start Arrival – welcome children & parents
1.10pm Registration
1.15 – 1.30pm Lesson 1 – circle time discussion  (Islamic Manners & Belief)
1.30 – 2.30pm Lesson 2 – Qu’ranic Arabic(children are separated into 3 ability groups – beginners/intermediate/advanced
2.30 – 3.00 pm Snack time (15 mins) & outdoor play (15 mins)
3.00 – 3.30 pm Lesson 3 – Islamic fun based activity(children continue to do one to one Qu’ranic reading)
3.30 – 3.40pm Tidy up
3.40 – 4.00pm Lesson 4 – Circle time revision of Daily Dua’s & Supplications
4.00 – 4.20pm Snack & Outdoor play
4.25 – 4.45pm Lesson 5 – Story time & discussions (Seerah)Nasheeds (Islamic songs/rhymes)
5.00pm End of session

To create unity through religion and to improve and enhance skills, knowledge and capacity of the community to espouse values of diversity, tolerance and moderation and promote interfaith dialogue with other religious group, by reaching out and acting as a resource centre for the local communities, voluntary and statutory agencies and the wider community as a whole.
